They typically weigh between 55 to 75 pounds, and can grow up to 24 inches tall. Golden Retrievers are highly intelligent and are used for a variety of purposes such as hunting, therapy dogs, search and rescue, and as loyal family companions. These dogs are social and easily adaptable, which makes them excellent family pets. They are gentle and loving with children, their owners, and strangers alike.
The Golden Retriever coat is a medium-length, harsh double-coat made up of a water-repellent topcoat and a dense, insulating undercoat.
