No. We never intended to compete in terms of price to begin with. The Great Dane breeders that you’ll find on Uptown are the best of the best and they want to help you find your dream dog. They offer impeccable breeding standards, transparent health records, and their full support until the day your puppy arrives in your home.
Any reputable Great Dane breeder takes good care of their dogs. The breeders on Uptown are guaranteed to be ethical in their practices and ensure that their puppies are healthy. Each puppy undergoes a nose-to-tail health check which includes thorough examination of the pup’s eyes, ears, mouth, teeth, skin, fur, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Still, we strongly advise that you take your new puppy to your own vet to verify its health statusa.
Great Danes were originally bred to hunt ferocious wild boars. In the early days of the breed, these massive dogs were assertive, powerful, and equally brutish as its prey. Today however, aggression has been bred out of Great Danes and we’re left with the gentlest, calmest, and most affectionate giant dogs you’ll ever meet.
Great Danes grow up to be huge dogs quickly. Even in their puppy days, you’ll find them towering over puppies of other breeds. And as adults, they can weigh close to 180 pounds and 30 inches tall. It’s no wonder they are called “The Apollo of Dogs”! Most Great Danes are fairly healthy although they are predisposed to joint conditions common in large breeds.
