Questions & Answers
Pomskies are becoming hugely popular all over the US, so there's a good chance you can find a trustworthy Pomsky breeder nearby. Either way, it doesn't matter where you live when you're browsing for pups on Uptown, as many of our featured breeders will be more than happy to organize travel for your dog to a location near you.
The Pomsky is a hybrid breed, created by crossing Pomeranians with Siberian Huskies. The end result is an adorable fluffy pup with the cute qualities of a Pomeranian, the beautiful eyes of the Husky, and a great range of additional qualities like friendliness, intelligence, portability, and loyalty.
They certainly can be, but it's important to try and choose a smaller Pomsky if you live in a little home like an apartment or condo. These dogs can come in quite a wide range of sizes, due to the different sizes of their parents, so you can shop around and find one that's a little more Pomeranian-size than Husky-size for best results.
The internet makes it so easy for people to find dogs for sale all over the US, but it also gives puppy mills and bad breeders an easy way to trick shoppers too. Uptown aims to eliminate these risks by taking the time to vet every single breeder that applies to join us, only approving the most ethical and honest individuals and keeping the puppy mills and scammers away.
We believe that everyone deserves to find a healthy, happy puppy, and every puppy deserves a happy home too. In order to bring dog lovers together with trusted breeders and ethical sellers, we established our Breeder Pledge, which includes 47 key standards that all Uptown-approved breeders must abide by.
Getting listed on Uptown is totally free, but it's not as simple as signing up and selling straight away. We have a careful application process and take the time to look at every applicant, only approving those who meet the 47 points of our Breeder Pledge. If you think you have what it takes to become an Uptown Five-Star Breeder, go ahead and apply!
Breeders and businesses in the Uptown Network always offer nose-to-tail health checks on all of the puppies they sell. These checks are very thorough, covering every part of your puppy's body, including eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, skin, hair, and more. We also recommend visiting your own local vet ASAP to make sure everything is okay once you've got your puppy home.
This really depends on the Pomsky you get. Some can be much more like Pomeranians and not need a whole lot of exercise, but others inherit more of the Husky genes and will have extra energy to burn. Get to know your furry friend and see what kind of exercise routine works best; in general, these dogs will need at least one mid-length walk per day, along with plenty of interaction.
Worried about what to feed your Pomsky pal? Well, try not to fret about it too much. Some dogs can be picky with their food, while others are greedy eaters, and you never know exactly how your dog is going to be until you've spent some time getting to know it. Read reviews, speak with your vet, and try a few different foods to build up a balanced doggy diet for your pal.
A purebred dog is one that has parents and ancestors of the same breed, like a Pomeranian, whereas a mixed breed dog is one that has two or more breeds involved in its family tree. A Pomsky is an example of a mixed breed, as both Pomeranians and Siberian Huskies are involved in its creation, with Pomsky pups inheriting qualities from both of these parent breeds.
It's highly likely that you can find Pomsky breeders all through the year, as this breed is really quite popular right now. To start your search, take a look at the featured pups from Uptown's vetted breeders and businesses. You should be able to find a wide range of options, with different coat colors, sizes, and styles.
Transparency is a big part of what we're all about at Uptown. We believe that every buyer deserves to have peace of mind and a peaceful, stress-free puppy-finding process, and that's why we always vet breeders and make a point of choosing the most honest and ethical individuals to join our network. Your chosen breeder will keep you updated every step of the way.
