Questions & Answers
Aussiedoodles are one of the most unique and interesting dog breeds out there. Their hybrid breed is made up of an Australian Shepherd and a Standard Poodle, making them the perfect mix of intelligence, energy, and playfulness a combination that's hard to resist! Plus, because of their hybrid nature, Aussiedoodles have a lowered chance of hereditary health issues that other breeds may be prone to. They also have luxurious coats that come in both curly and wavy textures, and can be just about any combination of colors and markings that you can imagine.
Aussiedoodles are considered to be non-shedding dogs. While they are not completely hypoallergenic, they are bred from two parent breeds (Australian Shepherds and Poodles) that are known for their minimal shedding, resulting in an overall low-shedding coat. Additionally, because their coat is essentially a combination of the coat of each parent breed, it is usually made up of tight curls or waves, which further contributes to their minimal shedding.
Aussiedoodles are a crossbreed of the Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, so their diet will depend on the size and age of the Aussiedoodle. Puppies may require a higher calorie diet with more protein, while a fully grown adult Aussiedoodle requires a balanced, nutrient-rich diet. Generally, Aussiedoodles should be fed high-quality dog food that is formulated with the right balance of protein, carbohydrates, fats, and minerals.
Aussiedoodles don't have any special requirements that are different from other breeds. As with all breeds, they need to receive regular veterinary care, proper nutrition, plenty of exercise, and consistent training and socialization in order to remain healthy and happy. Like any dog, Aussiedoodles need their owners to be committed to providing the love, attention and guidance they need in order to build a life-long bond. Proper socialization and an enriched environment are especially important for this breed. Early exposure to various people and experiences can help them grow into confident and well-adjusted adults.
Aussiedoodles can vary in size depending on the type. They can be standard, miniature, and toy size, typically reaching between 12 inches to 26 inches at the shoulder when fully grown. Generally, the standard size Aussiedoodle reaches around 23 26 inches tall and weighs between 45 55 pounds as an adult. The miniature size averages at about 18 23 inches tall and can weigh 20 40 pounds. The toy size is the smallest of the three, measuring anywhere from 12 18 inches tall and generally weighing right around the 7 20 pound range.
Aussiedoodles are an active breed that requires regular exercise and mental stimulation to stay in good health. Depending on the age and energy level of your individual dog, the amount of exercise needed could range from 30 minutes of moderate exercise to 2 hours of vigorous activity per day. This could include a daily walk or two, running, playing ball, swimming, or going to a dog park. To prevent boredom, which could result in destructive behavior, mix up exercises with different activities and enrichment like puzzle toys and playtime for mental stimulation.
Aussiedoodles have a tendency to get along very well with kids, as long as they're given plenty of socialization and training. These intelligent and active pups have the energy and enthusiasm to keep up with children of all ages. They also have a gentle nature and easily become part of the family, making them a great choice for households with kids. Aussiedoodles can be taught basic obedience commands and respond well to positive reinforcement, helping to ensure safe interactions with the entire family.
The amount of minutes you should spend training your Aussiedoodle per day can vary depending on your goals and your pup's age. Generally, puppies are more active and require more training each day, so you may spend 30-45 minutes a day for puppies. For adult Aussiedoodles, you may need to spend around 15-25 minutes for basic training and mental stimulation. If you are doing more advanced training such as tricks and agility, then you may need to spend 45-60 minutes a day.
