Questions & Answers
Aussiedoodles are an increasingly popular designer breed of dog, consisting of a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle. These hybrid dogs are often very intelligent, active, and enthusiastic. Aussiedoodles tend to be hypoallergenic since they commonly inherit the coat of the Poodle parent. They are often well-loved by their owners since they are loyal, loving, and great with children. Additionally, Aussiedoodles need lots of physical and mental stimulation to avoid any kind of behavioral issues. Consistency and patience are key when training them.
Aussiedoodles are considered to be hypoallergenic dogs, meaning that they do not produce dander or saliva that contain allergens that trigger an allergic reaction. Therefore, it is unlikely that owning a Aussiedoodle will cause you to suffer from allergies. However, it is important to note that everyone is different, and there is a chance that the presence of a Aussiedoodle may cause an individual to have an allergic reaction. It is recommended that people with known allergies consult with their healthcare provider prior to purchasing a Aussiedoodle.
Aussiedoodles should not be given a lot of human food, such as french fries or chips, as they can be high in fat and have low nutrition. Additionally, chocolate is highly toxic to dogs, so it is best to avoid giving it as a treat to Aussiedoodles. Raw onions and garlic can be dangerous for your pup's digestive system, so these foods should be avoided as well. Bones are also a no-no, as they can cause choking or other obstructions.
Aussiedoodles, a hybrid cross between an Australian Shepherd and Poodle, are generally easy to care for with a few special requirements. First, these highly intelligent and active dogs need ample exercise and should have ample opportunity to burn off their energy. Second, given their intelligence, they require mental stimulation in order to exercise their brains and prevent boredom. If not provided with enough physical and mental challenges, they will often find creative ways to entertain themselves (which can often lead to undesirable behaviors).
Aussiedoodles come in four sizes: Tiny Toy, Toy, Miniature, and Standard. Tiny Toy Aussiedoodles typically stand between 8 and 12 inches and weigh 5 to 15 pounds. Toy Aussiedoodles tend to be 12 to 15 inches and 15 to 20 pounds. Miniature Aussiedoodles measure around 15 to 17 inches and weigh approximately 18 to 30 pounds. On the other hand, Standard Aussiedoodles usually grow to stand between 18 to 23 inches tall and weigh between 30-50 pounds.
Aussiedoodles are highly active dogs, so they need ample exercise each day to stay healthy and happy. The amount of exercise needs vary depending on the age and size of the individual dog; however, adult Aussiedoodles should have at least one hour of exercise per day. Smaller Aussiedoodles may only need 30 minutes per day, while larger Aussiedoodles may need up to two hours. Some activities Aussiedoodles may enjoy include running, playing fetch, going for hikes, swimming, participating in agility training and walks.
Aussiedoodles are usually a good choice for families with children. Their intelligence and eagerness to please make them an ideal family pet. Outgoing and friendly, they love to join in family activities. Aussiedoodles are patient and tolerant with children, making them a great addition to any home with kids. They love attention and generally respond well to positive reinforcement and reward-based training. Proper socialization and training will help them thrive in a family setting. Their size and energy level make them a great playmate.
Training an Aussiedoodle is much like training any other dog breed: consistent, positive reinforcement is key. Start by familiarizing your Aussiedoodle with basic commands like 'sit' and 'stay'. Use treats or other rewards when your pup performs the command correctly to help reinforce the desired behavior. Establish consistent and clear expectations and make sure that your Aussiedoodle understands exactly what you are asking of them. As your Aussiedoodle progresses, keep challenging him or her to learn more advanced commands and tricks.
