From their Australian Shepherd parent, they inherited their trademark intelligence, alertness and a desire to please. From their Poodle side, they get their low-shedding, hypoallergenic coat. Aussiedoodles have a high energy level which makes them well suited for outdoor activities like hunting and agility competitions. They are also patient and friendly—making them good family companions.
Aussiedoodles are a product of a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle. These two breeds are both considered to be hypoallergenic, but the actual extent of a generically bred Aussiedoodle's hypoallergenic state is largely unknown. Aussiedoodle breeding is still a relatively new practice and much of it is done on a much smaller scale, so a larger sample is not available to make a definitive statement.
Aussiedoodles are an active breed, so make sure that you're feeding them a diet that gives them the nutrition they need for their day-to-day activities.
