To achieve this wonderful mix, the Aussiedoodle is created when crossing an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, usually a Standard or a Miniature. An Aussiedoodle boasts the sporting nature and herding instinct of an Australian Shepherd and the intelligence, laid-back nature, and silky coat of a Poodle. This unique combination brings together the positive attributes of both breeds to create an incredibly versatile and devoted pet.
Aussiedoodles can be hypoallergenic, depending on the type of coat and the specific traits of the individual dog. While the breed’s shedless coat can help to reduce allergies for some, since the breed is a mix of the Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, there is no guarantee that the Aussiedoodle will be hypoallergenic. Generally, the Poodle’s gene contributes to the lower amount of shedding which helps to reduce allergens, but each dog is different and could differ in their hypoallergenic levels.
