Questions & Answers
Aussiedoodles are a mixed breed dog comprised of an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle. This unique hybrid can either be a Standard Aussiedoodle (Standard Poodle crossed with an Australian Shepherd), a Toy Aussiedoodle (Toy Poodle crossed with an Australian Shepherd) or a Mini Aussiedoodle (Miniature Poodle crossed with an Australian Shepherd). Aussiedoodles are incredibly intelligent, friendly, and loyal members of the canine family and they make excellent companion animals.
Although Aussiedoodles are lowto non-shedding and hypoallergenic dogs, it doesn't necessarily mean that they are non-allergenic. Allergies are an individual thing, so it's best to do your own research and maybe even spend some time around the breed to determine if it's the right fit for you. It's important to note that some people may be allergic to a particular breed and have no reactions, while others may not be allergic to that same breed and have an allergic reaction.
Aussiedoodles typically eat a healthy diet including both wet and dry foods, but it's important to speak to your veterinarian or a pet nutritionist to determine the right diet for your Aussiedoodle. Wet food should make up a third of their meals, and dry food should make up two-thirds, along with healthy treats. Your Aussiedoodle should also get plenty of fresh water, and owners should monitor their food intake to avoid health problems related to obesity.
Preparing your home for your new Aussiedoodle is a process that requires you to make sure its environment is one that is safe, comfortable, and secure. Start by puppy-proofing your home reduce hazards by making sure that any potentially dangerous materials or objects (plastic bags, sharp objects, certain plants, etc.) are out of reach of your new pet. You should also ensure that hazardous cleaning products or other chemicals are stored in a secure location. Then designate an area that your pup can use as its special space a spot to sleep, hide, and find comfort.
Aussiedoodles typically reach heights of 18-22 inches and weights of 30-55 pounds. They typically grow to around 50-60 pounds full-grown. Generally, they will look like a medium-sized to large dog. This is a good size for those who want an active companion dog that won't take up too much space in their homes. It's possible for them to reach up to 65 pounds, but this is relatively rare. Aussiedoodles are usually well-proportioned and look proportionate for their sizes.
Aussiedoodles are certainly an active breed! These loving pups are a hybrid between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle so they have the best traits of both breeds – including intelligence, sensitivity, and an eagerness to please. Thanks to their high energy and intelligence, Aussiedoodles respond well to a range of different exercise and training activities. Whether it's going for a jog or learning new tricks, this breed loves to stay busy and most enjoy spending time outdoors. Be sure to take your pup for plenty of long walks and keep them entertained with games or even agility activities!
Aussiedoodles are a wonderful choice for families who want a loyal, friendly, and energetic companion. These hybrid dogs are derived from Australian Shepherds and Poodles, making them gentle, intelligent, and low-shedding. All that makes Aussiedoodles perfect for any family, as they can become loyal and much-loved pets with appropriate training and socialization. Aussiedoodles also have lots of energy and thrive on both physical and mental stimulation. They also do incredibly well when given regular exercise opportunities.
Training an Aussiedoodle is an important part of ensuring your pup is healthy, happy, and behaves well. The exact amount of time needed each day varies depending on the age and temperament of your pup, but generally, you should aim to spend at least 30 minutes per day directly training your Aussiedoodle. This can be through structured training sessions, playing with them, and providing physical and mental stimulation. You can also use interactive toys to keep them engaged and entertained for additional time.
