They make a great addition to any family looking for a friendly, active dog, and they are known for their loving and devoted personalities. They require a certain level of energy and exercise, but, once they are provided with the right amount of stimulation, they often become incredibly friendly and mild-mannered. Aussiedoodles are usually fairly easy to train, as long as they receive consistent and positive reinforcement.
The Aussiedoodle coat is something truly unique easily described as the best of both worlds! It is a combination of the Australian shepherd coat which is usually medium-length, soft, and wavy and the poodle coat which is usually curly and silky bringing out the best in both breeds. Aussiedoodles have an average-length coat that is wavy and soft, but it can also have patches of curls depending on the mix of the poodle and the Australian shepherd in the line.
Aussiedoodles may be prone to triggering serious health problems if fed certain foods. In order to ensure their health and wellbeing, it is important to limit their diet to foods that are naturally healthy and nutritious. Foods to avoid include: chocolates, candy, snacks, processed foods, table scraps, uncooked meat, fish, dairy products, onions, avocado, rhubarb, macadamia nuts, grapes, and raisins.
