Aussiedoodles, often referred to as Aussiepoo, are a hybrid breed, being the result of crossing an Australian Shepard with a Poodle. This designer canine is a popular breed because of its combination of the intelligence and good-natured charm of the Aussie with the loving, outgoing personality of the Poodle. Aussiedoodles come in a variety of coats and colors, with the most common being a sweeping wavy coat in tan and black. Depending on the lineage, an Aussiedoodle may have a curly, wavy, or straight coat.
Aussiedoodle coats come in a wide range of styles and colors, with the most common of colors being black and white, sable, red, blue merle, and chocolate. They typically have a thick double-coat with a courser outer coat and a softer inner coat. Depending on the size of the breed, the coat thickness can range from short to long, thick, and wavy. Aussiedoodles have great tolerance for cold and usually need minimal brushing, although it is recommended that the coat be brushed at least once every other week.
Aussiedoodles have been known to be active, energetic dogs that require a healthy diet to keep up with their lifestyle. Generally, Aussiedoodles require a balanced diet that consists of high-quality protein sources, such as chicken or fish, carbohydrates, such as sweet potatoes or brown rice, as well as essential fats from sources such as fish oils.
