Aussiedoodles are an intelligent and vibrant hybrid breed that have become increasingly popular in recent years. These pooches are a cross between an Australian Shepherd (Aussie) and a Poodle, and typically have wavy fur, perky ears, and a big, friendly smile. They often have an energetic personality and enjoy being active, making them great for hikes, runs, and agility or obedience classes. They tend to be very loyal and form strong bonds with their humans and fellow pets, becoming protective of their family.
The Aussiedoodle coat is a hybrid of an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, so the coat has many of the same qualities. The Aussiedoodle coat is comprised of both long and rough hair. Depending on the parentage, it can range from curly to wavy locks. Similar to an Australian Shepherd, the Aussiedoodle coat generally has a heavy, thick and soft texture. This breed is hybridized with a Poodle, so they also usually have a double-layered coat.
Aussiedoodles are known to be active and energetic, so it is important to provide them with the right balance of proteins and carbohydrates in their diet. The best dog food for an Aussiedoodle would be a premium, grain-free dry kibble formulated for large-breed active dogs. The ingredients should be highly digestible and contain healthy sources of animal protein, essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and probiotics.
Aussiedoodles, a cross breed between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, do have some special requirements. In addition to timed walks, providing interactive playtime and activities can help your pup expend energy and stay physically fit. For a young Aussiedoodle, you may need to increase the walk time to up to two hours per day, and you may want to scatter walks throughout the day.
