They have a thick, coat that typically sheds very little, making this breed an excellent choice for those with allergies. Aussiedoodles are generally highly intelligent and highly trainable; given consistent and positive reinforcement, they can learn a variety of commands and tricks.
Aussiedoodles can be non-shedding, depending on their coat type, if they have a tight curl and minimal undercoat that is inherited from their poodle parent. Non-shedding coats are beneficial since they trap and hold more dirt and pollen, reducing the amount of allergens released into the air. Most Aussiedoodles have wavy coats, which are low-shedding coats that have soft waves throughout their fur. Since they do not shed, grooming and brushing is especially important, more frequently and with greater intensity than other breeds with thicker coats that shed.
Aussiedoodles are highly active breeds that require a balanced diet to remain healthy. It's important to provide a nutritious, high-quality dry food that is suitable for their age.
