Questions & Answers
Aussiedoodles are a designer hybrid breed, also known as "Aussiepoos" or "Aussiepoodles". This breed is a mixture of two established breeds an Australian Shepherd and a Standard Poodle. These dogs are extremely intelligent, friendly, loyal, and thrive on activity and human interaction. Aussiedoodles usually have an average life span of 12 to 15 years, and can weigh anywhere from 15 to 75 pounds. Their double-layered coat can be of various colors, and can be either curly, wavy, or smooth.
The Aussiedoodle coat is usually a combination of an Australian Shepherd's thick double coat and a Standard Poodle's soft and fluffy curls. This results in an incredibly thick coat with loose curls or waves. The colors of the coat can vary from white, black, red, and silver to a combination of two or more colors. The length of the hair can also vary significantly and pelts may range from short to extra long. It can also come in both smooth and rough coats, with many coats having a combination of both.
Aussiedoodles, like all dogs, need to eat a balanced diet of wholesome foods that suit their age, activity level, and other individual health needs. The best approach is to feed your Aussiedoodle a premium pet food that meets the nutritional requirements of their specific life stage, which can be determined by your veterinarian. Additionally, whole foods like eggs, lean meats, fresh fruits, and vegetables can be incorporated into an Aussiedoodle's diet for extra nutrition.
As is true for any pet, it's important to do your research and gather the essentials before bringing an Aussiedoodle into your home. First and foremost, you'll need to make sure your house is puppy-proofed with stairs blocked off, electrical cords out of reach, and cleaning supplies stored away. You should also pick out a large crate for your dog to sleep in as well as food and water bowls. A comfortable and supportive collar and leash are also a must.
Aussiedoodles are typically quite large. Generally, grown Aussiedoodle dogs range from 18-24 inches at the shoulder and typically weigh 50-70 pounds. Though the size of your adult Aussiedoodle may vary depending on the size of its parents, no one can accurately predict the exact size. That being said, Aussiedoodles tend to be taller than they are long, often resembling a teddy bear with a sturdy, muscular physique. So, if you're looking for a large pup, Aussiedoodles might just be the perfect fit!
Aussiedoodles are usually quite active and lively. They have a lot of energy and easily become bored if not given enough exercise. It is important for owners to make sure Aussiedoodles receive regular exercise, mental stimulation, and attention to stay healthy and balanced. They have a natural affinity for running, walking, and playing fetch, as well as a variety of agility and obedience sports. Plus, they are typically very social dogs and love spending time with their owners, and other animals.
Aussiedoodles tend to get along well with other pets in the home since they are so friendly and social. They are very smart, so if properly trained and socialised from puppyhood, it's likely they'll become great buddies with any other animals they might meet. Aussiedoodles are eager to please so once they realise how important it is to get along with other pets, they'll usually try their hardest to make it work. Of course, any encounter with other animals should always be supervised in the beginning to ensure both pets remain safe.
Training an Aussiedoodle can be a rewarding experience, but it does require a bit of patience and time. Depending on the individual dog's intelligence, training an Aussiedoodle may be easier than other breeds, but regular and consistent positive reinforcement methods are key to helping them learn. Working on basic commands like sitting, staying, and walking on a leash can be beneficial in helping further strengthen the bond between you and your pup. Additionally, taking your Aussiedoodle for regular walks or outings can help with mental stimulation and provide a calming environment for them to learn.
