Questions & Answers
One of the most interesting things about Aussiedoodles is that they are surprisingly intelligent and easy to train. These dogs have been bred to possess the best qualities of both the Poodle and the Australian Shepherd, and that combination makes for a unique and intelligent canine. They are quicker to learn commands than other types of poodle-mix dogs and can quickly learn complex or difficult tasks. These dogs also often make great guardians, as they are loyal but not aggressive. Even though they are smaller in size, they still have the guardian-dog mentality.
The Aussiedoodle coat is rather distinctive, boasting a plush medium length and volume that is somewhere between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle. This combination helps to produce a unique texture which is often described as soft and silky. While the exact color of the coat depends on the parent breeds, it usually consists of a mixture of colors -usually either white and soft cream or white and black. The longer coat of an Aussiedoodle means it will need to be groomed regularly to prevent matting. Regular brushing is generally enough to keep their coat soft and clean.
Aussiedoodles should not be fed food containing raw or undercooked meat, eggs, or bones, as well as grapes, raisins, or currants. Additionally, chocolate, candy, and other sugary treats should be avoided. Aussiedoodles should also not be fed foods with high levels of fat, salt, or sugar, as these can lead to weight gain. Instead, choose nutritious, high-quality dog food that is formulated for the breed and age of your Aussiedoodle.
Aussiedoodles can need more special care than other breeds, depending on the individual dog and the size of the pet. They are intelligently smart and easily excitable, so they require regular exercise and mental stimulation. Training and socialization should begin as soon as possible, as it is important for these breeds to recognize the owner’s expectations and commands from an early age. Furthermore, their fur may require regular grooming to avoid tangles and discomfort, so brushing and bathing should become part of a regular routine.
Aussiedoodles, a hybrid of the Australian Shepherd and the Poodle, can vary in size depending on the size of the parent breeds. Generally speaking, a Standard Aussiedoodle will grow to between 20 and 24 inches in height while a Miniature Aussiedoodle will reach between 14 and 18 inches. As for weight, Standards usually reach between 45 and 80 pounds and Miniatures will weigh between 15 and 30 pounds.
An Aussiedoodle is a high-energy breed, so you should aim to give them at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. Depending on the size and age of your pooch, you may need to stretch that to an hour. In terms of walking, 15 minutes at least 3 times a day is a good place to start. This may need to be increased on especially hot summer days, to avoid your pup from being out in the heat for too long.
Aussiedoodles can be a great choice for first-time owners. They're a mix of an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, inheriting the intelligence, loyalty, and friendliness of both breeds. As a result, they're incredibly loyal to their owners and usually quite easy to train. Aussiedoodles also have high energy levels, so they need plenty of daily exercise and love to play and explore in the yard. It's important to establish boundaries and rules right away with an Aussiedoodle, as they are very eager to please their owners.
Aussiedoodles are incredibly active and need lots of exercise and mental stimulation to stay healthy and happy. The amount of time each day needed for training and exercise will vary depending on the age and energy level of your Aussiedoodle. Generally speaking, they should be getting 45-60 minutes ofmoderate-to-high intensity exercise per day. This could include activities such as playtime, running, brisk walking, or a combination of activities. Training is also essential, and should be done for around 10 minutes per day, or more if desired.
