Aussiedoodles are truly an interesting breed! They are the result of mixing an Australian Shepherd with a Poodle, so their personalities are as engaging as their appearance. They are intelligent, energetic, and loyal, making them great family companions. Aussiedoodles also come in a variety of colors and coat types, ranging from short and curly to long and wavy. Despite their size, they do not require a large amount of exercise, making them suitable for small homes and apartment living. They are also highly adaptable and can adjust quickly to their environment.
Aussiedoodles are hypoallergenic dogs and they are known to be low to non-shedding. While all Aussiedoodles will shed to some degree, the amount is usually minimal. Aussiedoodles have coats that range from a straight, smooth, wiry look to a wavy or curly coat. This combination of coats makes them low shedding, because the thick, fluffy fur has less tendency to shed. In addition, their coats require regular brushing, which helps keep the shedding coat hairs from spreading throughout the home.
Aussiedoodles, like all dogs, should not be fed human food, including items that are high in fat, sugar, sodium, or preservatives. Table scraps, foods containing onion or garlic, or foods that are high in sugar or caffeine should all be avoided. Chocolate, raisins, and alcohol are also dangerous for Aussiedoodles and can quickly make them very sick. It's important to keep in mind that anything that is not a specifically formulated dog food should avoided in order to keep your Aussiedoodle healthy.
