Questions & Answers
Aussiedoodles are unique and fun loving dogs. They are a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, blending the intelligence of the former with the hypoallergenic qualities of the latter. Aussiedoodles are usually friendly and highly social, loving to meet new people and animals and sometimes even surprise visitors. They often get along well with children of all ages, but they may be too rough for very young toddlers. Aussiedoodles enjoy playing fetch, agility competitions, and being taken on walks or runs.
Aussiedoodles typically do not cause a person to have allergies. They are a hybrid breed between two hypoallergenic breeds the Australian Shepherd and the Poodle which reduces the chance of triggering allergies. However, it is impossible to guarantee that no allergies will surface since different individuals can have different sensitivity levels. In any case, if allergies occur, they tend to manifest in mild symptoms such as sneezing, red and itchy eyes or a runny nose.
Aussiedoodles typically have a varied diet, depending on their age, size, activity level, and health. In general, these pups will need a high-quality dry kibble that is tailored to their nutritional needs. While dry food should form the basis of their diet, it is important to also incorporate wet food and wet treats in their diet. Other things to consider are adding cooked meats and/or eggs, or a small amount of plain, unflavored Greek yogurt for added protein as well as vegetables such as cooked squash, green beans, and carrots as occasional treats.
Aussiedoodle are hybrid breed of dogs, also known as Aussie-Poo, and they have many special requirements. As their parent breeds have different exercise and dietary needs, providing a nutritionally balanced diet and enough exercise and mental stimulation is important for an Aussiedoodle's overall health. In addition, Aussiedoodles have high energy levels and require regular grooming and brushing due to their thick, fluffy coats. They need plenty of socialization and early training to help them become well-adjusted and obedient dogs.
Aussiedoodles come in a variety of sizes, ranging from toy-sized, between 8-12 inches in height, to standard-sized, which measure typically 17-21 inches in height at the shoulder. Weight can range from 6 to 100 pounds, depending on the size. Aussiedoodle puppies typically reach their full height by 9 to 12 months of age, and their full weight by up to 18 months. Generally, the Aussie side contributes to the size of the grown dog, with the toy Aussiedoodles being more influenced by the Toy Poodle side.
The amount of time you should walk your Aussiedoodle will depend on their individual energy level and age. Generally, they need between 30 to 90 minutes of exercise per day, with 30 minutes being the minimum. A daily walk of 30 to 60 minutes is generally recommended, with frequency being more important than duration. For a young, active Aussiedoodle, walks of 40 to 60 minutes a day, two to three times per day, are best. As the pup ages, you can adjust the frequency, duration and intensity of the walks accordingly.
Aussiedoodles are usually very friendly and sociable, so they tend to get along well with both children and other animals. They are intelligent and highly trainable, and respond best to positive reinforcement. As with any dog, introducing Aussiedoodles to children should be done gradually and with supervision from an adult. If given consistent training and socialisation, they can be devoted and loving family pets who are loyal to their people. Aussiedoodles can be wonderful family pets, if given the right environment and training. They typically love to play and be with their family members.
Training an Aussiedoodle can be a rewarding experience, but it can also require some patience. First, it's important to have realistic expectations about the length of time it takes to train any dog. Training usually builds slowly over time. Second, start with small, easy tasks and build up from there. Obedience training can be accomplished by using positive reinforcement methods such as treats or praise and rewarding good behavior. Finally, keep in mind that all dogs learn differently, so consistency and repetition can help build familiarity with commands and desired behaviors.
