Bernedoodles are a hybrid between Bernese Mountain Dogs and Poodles. They are sometimes called “Designer Dogs” and are a relatively new breed. They are very intelligent and social dogs, but they can also be quite friendly and affectionate. Bernedoodles have wonderful and unique coats that can range from pure black to a unique merle pattern, as well as many solid colors. Bernedoodles typically have medium to long coats, and they need a fair amount of care and brushing to keep their coats looking beautiful.
You may experience allergies if you are around Bernedoodles. However, they are considered a hypoallergenic breed because they are a mix of a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle, so the Hybrid breed should not cause you to have an allergic reaction. Nonetheless, please remember that no dog is 100% allergen free. Keep in mind, that if you already suffer from allergies, it would be wise to start with a less extreme crossbreed to test the level of your allergy sensitivity.
Bernedoodles are not picky eaters, however it's important to feed them a balanced diet with lots of nutrients. They generally do well on high-quality kibble and some canned food, but you can also supplement their diet with fruits and vegetables like apples, carrots, blueberries, and cucumbers. For treats, you can offer them dehydrated bites and homemade goodies like frozen banana slices or pumpkin puree.
