They are also active, loveable, and make great family pets. One fun fact is that Bernedoodles are also hypoallergenic, and don't typically shed. Additionally, Bernedoodles can live up to 15 years, so they can make a great companion for years on end.
Bernedoodles are generally considered hypoallergenic since they are a hybrid of the Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle. Their hybriding creates lower amounts of shedding, which means they produce less dander, the main cause of allergies. Bernedoodles' coats are generally curly which traps the dander and prevents it from going airborne. But, since everyone's allergies react differently to certain animals, it is not possible to state definitively that Bernedoodles are indeed hypoallergenic for everyone.
Bernedoodles should be fed according to their individual needs, taking into consideration their age, size, and lifestyle. A diet high in quality animal proteins such as fish, poultry, and red meat, and/or certain plant-based proteins, will give your Bernedoodle the appropriate amount of protein he needs to grow and maintain muscle. Also include whole grains such as brown rice, barley and oats, along with fruits and vegetables, such as cranberries, carrots, sweet potatoes, and apples.
