They are good-natured, intelligent, and generally have low-to-moderate energy levels, which makes them the perfect breed for families seeking a low-maintenance canine companion. Bernedoodles are highly social and tend to be very affectionate with their families, as well as with strangers. They often enjoy playing fetch and going for short walks multiple times per day.
Bernedoodles are a hybrid breed of dog created by crossing a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Standard or Miniature Poodle, and have the potential to be non-shedding depending on genetics. Those Bernedoodles that take more after the Poodle in its lineage will typically have low-shedding coats and be referred to as a Fleece or Wool coat. Other Bernedoodles may take more after the Bernese Mountain Dog which have a medium-long double coat, resulting in a Bernedoodle with slightly higher shedding.
