Developed from Bernese Mountain Dogs and Poodles, Bernedoodles are lowto non-shedding and make great family pets. They may look like they are tougher than they really are as they have an incredibly kind and gentle nature. With proper socialization, Bernedoodles get along with people and other pets.
Bernedoodles are an excellent choice for those with allergies since they are a hybrid of two hypoallergenic breeds, the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Poodle. The combination of the two breeds makes the Bernedoodle very low shedding and suitable for people with allergies. However, all dogs produce some amount of allergens, so the potential for an allergic reaction does indeed exist. Fortunately, many Bernedoodle fanciers report no allergic reactions even with extended exposure.
Bernedoodles are unique and special puppies that benefit from carefully tailored diets. The best way to feed your Bernedoodle for optimal growth, health, and energy, is to choose a high quality dog food specifically designed for intelligent, active, large breed dogs. Look for food that is designed to reduce large breed-specific health risks like joint issues, obesity, allergy, and other health problems.
