They are a cross between Bernese Mountain Dogs and Poodles, and are highly intelligent. They retain the classic Bernese Mountain Dog personality traits, such as being loyal, loving and affectionate companions, but they come in a sleeker and slightly smaller package.
Bernedoodles are a cross-breed of a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle, giving them the benefits of hybrid vigor. Depending on the Bernedoodle's gene pool, they may produce a low-shedding and hypoallergenic coat (Poodle genes), which is generally better tolerated by those with allergies. However, every individual is different and there is no guarantee that the Bernedoodle's coat will not irritate allergies.
When it comes to selecting the best dog food for Bernedoodles, there are many things to consider. Nutrition is most important of all, so look for a food that contains premium protein sources, high-quality grains and vegetables, and beneficial supplements for balanced nutrition. Tailoring a diet to the Bernedoodle's size and activity level is important, as well, so look for a food that is specifically designed for their size, age, and activity level.
Before getting a Bernedoodle, there are a few essential items you should buy in order to provide the best environment for your new pup.
