Bernedoodles combine the iconic teddy bear-like intelligence and loyalty of a poodle with the relaxed and loyal nature of the Bernese Mountain Dog, offering a well-balanced and laid-back personality. They are perfect for families and also great around kids, willing to engage in play but also content to curl up on the couch or cuddle on your lap for a nap.
Bernedoodles are a hybrid breed, created by crossing the Bernese Mountain Dog with the Poodle. Though each dog will vary in characteristics, they can produce a low to no shed coat. This can make them appealing for people with allergies, as their coat produces less dander and particles which cause reactions. Generally speaking, most Bernedoodles are not hypoallergenic as there is no such thing as a 'totally' hypoallergenic dog. However, their coat type may be less likely to trigger allergens in response.
