They are an incredibly intelligent, loyal, and family-oriented breed that is great for any home. Bernedoodles come in all sizes, from Miniature to XXLarge, and can have a variety of coat typessuch as straight, curly, and wavy. They make great family pets due to their low-shedding, non-allergenic coat and bubbly, social personalities.
The Bernedoodle is a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle, so depending on what type of Poodle was used to create the Bernedoodle, their coat can vary. Generally, they have a soft and silky, medium-length double coat, with the Bernese Mountain Dog contribution lending itself to a wavier texture. Bernedoodles require minimal grooming and are considered relatively low-maintenance when it comes to their coats, however brushing should be done regularly (ideally once a week) to avoid matting.
