Bernedoodles are a designer hybrid breed that is a mix of Bernese Mountain Dog and Standard Poodle. Although, they have been around for longer than some assume, they have only recently become popular in the last 5 years. They are loyal, loving, and smart canines and they're especially great for people who suffer from dog allergies, as they are low shedding. Bernedoodles also make excellent family dogs as they enjoy being active and spending time with their humans. On top of that, they are incredibly easy to train, as they learn commands quickly and easily.
The Bernedoodle coat is wonderfully unique in many ways. This hybrid breed is a cross between the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Poodle, resulting in a coat that varies based on the ratio of which breeds dominate the genetic makeup of the pup. The Bernedoodle can inherit the fluffy soft coat of the Poodle, or the thick double coat of the Bernese Mountain Dog, or a combination of the two. Some Bernedoodles have even been known to have wavy locks or curls, while others may have a more straight outer coat with a soft undercoat.
It is important to research what not to feed Bernedoodles and to seek advice from a qualified veterinarian or breeder. Generally, a Bernedoodle should be fed a balanced diet according to their age and activity level.
