While they are a hybrid breed, a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle, they are not just a mix of the two. Rather, they are a breed of their own that possess intelligence, trainability, and outgoing personality of the Bernese Mountain Dog with the low-shedding qualities and hypoallergenic coat of the Poodle. Bernedoodles tend to be loyal and devoted to their owners, with a strong desire to please.
Bernedoodles may not cause allergies, but it is important to consider that all dogs, regardless of breed, can cause some type of allergic reaction. Depending on the severity of your allergies and the type of Bernedoodle you've chosen, you may be more or less likely to experience allergic reactions. To minimize your risk, brush your Bernedoodle regularly and vacuum their bedding and living area often to remove any allergens their coat and environment may have created.
