Bernedoodles are a designer hybrid breed that combines the characteristics of both the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Standard Poodle. The breed is growing in popularity due to their intelligence, social demeanor, and non-shedding and hypoallergenic coats. They vary in size depending on their parent breeds, and can range from a miniature version to a large version. In addition to physical traits, Bernedoodles make excellent therapy, comfort, and service dogs and are known for their friendly and devoted natures.
The Bernedoodle coat is a beautiful combination of a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle. The result is a dog with a luxurious combination of curls and straight hair that can stay either long or short depending on the needs of the owner. Some coats will be black and white or red and white, while others may have lighter or darker variations. Generally, the breed does not shed as much as other doodle breeds. While the exact amount of time per day that you should walk your Bernedoodle depends on a few factors such as their age, energy levels and health, on average it is recommended to give them a good 30-60 minutes of exercise per day. If you have an adult Bernedoodle, it would be a good idea to at least do a few longer walks each week and supplement these with shorter, more frequent walks throughout the day.
