Questions & Answers
Bernedoodles are a designer hybrid breed; they are a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle. This combination creates a unique combination of intelligence, athleticism, and playfulness. Bernedoodles come in three sizes, Standard, Miniature, and Toy. They have a low to non-shedding, hypoallergenic coat, making them an ideal pet for people with allergies or asthma. Though these fun-loving and good-natured dogs are suitable for many lifestyles, they can be energetic and require consistent exercise and mental stimulation.
Bernedoodles are often claimed to be "hypoallergenic" or "non-shedding". However, this is only partially true. Bernedoodles may not shed as much as other breeds, but they do still shed some hair and their coat needs to be maintained with regular brushing in order to keep shedding to a minimum. Regular professional grooming is also recommended to keep their coats healthy. Since both Bernese Mountain Dogs and Poodles are known for their abundant coats, Bernedoodles may require more frequent maintenance than other breeds with shorter hair.
Bernedoodles are a popular, family-friendly breed of dog and their dietary needs help maintain ideal health and activity level. Generally, adult Bernedoodles need about one and a half cups of high-quality dry dog food twice a day along with fresh veggies, cooked grains, like brown rice or oatmeal, boiled eggs, cottage cheese, or low sodium canned foods. It is important that your Bernedoodle not become overweight, so adjust amounts accordingly and talk to your veterinarian for specific dietary requirements for your pet.
If you are planning to get a Bernedoodle, you should make sure you are well prepared! Some essential items that will come in handy include a leash, collar, food and water dishes, bedding, brushes, nail clippers, chew toys, and treats. Depending on the age and size of the dog, you may also need to buy a kennel or crate, and puppy pads if you are planning on potty-training a puppy. Additionally, food suited to the Bernedoodle’s breed and age should be purchased to make sure it gets the proper nutrition.
Bernedoodles come in a variety of sizes, ranging from miniature to standard. Miniature Bernedoodles typically weigh between 15 and 30 pounds and are about 14 to 16 inches tall. On the other hand, Standard Bernedoodles usually weigh between 50 and 90 pounds and are between 18 and 24 inches tall. Some breeders also offer Bernedoodles that fall in between the two varieties, known as medium Bernedoodles.
Bernedoodles are usually very enthusiastic about swimming in water and are super-energetic when it comes to playing. They are naturally buoyant and have a strong swimming ability which also makes them ideal for water fun. Bernedoodles have a very strong connection to water and their water-loving attitude means that they love swimming more than almost any other activity. As they tend to have a lot of energy, swimming is a great way for them to exercise and entertain themselves in one go. They are also highly intelligent and so can learn to fetch items or swim around obstacles fairly quickly.
Bernedoodles are excellent family dogs for many reasons. They are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and patience, which are all qualities that make for a great family pet. Bernedoodles are also known to form strong bonds with their families, making them perfect companions. They are also very friendly and social, which allows them to get along with just about anyone. With regular exercise, Bernedoodles are content with being indoors for extended periods of time. Overall, Bernedoodles make the perfect family pet with their versatility, intelligence, and love for everyone.
There is no definitive answer to how many minutes per day you need to train a Bernedoodle. It depends on many factors such as the age and temperament of the Bernedoodle, as well as the goals you are trying to reach. The more you use positive reinforcement training, the less time you will need to spend with your Bernedoodle. However, it's important to provide daily opportunities to learn, practice, and reinforce.
