Bernedoodles are a hybrid breed, created when crossing a Bernese Mountain Dog with a Standard or Miniature Poodle. They typically have a wavy or curly coat and unique color markings and usually weigh between 35 to 80 pounds. They're considered to be intelligent, loyal companions and are great around kids and other animals. Bernedoodles typically don't shed, making them great for those who have allergies. They are also strong swimmers and have lots of energy, so short daily walks + plenty of playtime is recommended.
The Bernedoodle coat is unique and versatile. This hybrid breed has a beautiful, evenly distributed wavy to curly coat that is soft to the touch and sheds less than most other breeds. It may be black, gray, red, or a blend of shades with white highlights. The coat is usually a medium length and will require regular brushing, trimming, and bathing to stay healthy and prevent mats. Excessive brushing and trimming should be avoided, as the coat should remain fluffy but not shaggy.
Bernedoodles can have special dietary needs depending on the individual dog. Generally speaking, they should be fed a balanced and nutritious diet that contains lean proteins, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates. However, both the Miniature and Standard Bernedoodle can grow to 50-90 lbs., with the giant Bernedoodle attaining a weight of up to 90 lbs. and more. No matter what size Bernedoodle puppy you may end up with, it is important to make sure they get regular exercise to help encourage healthy mental and physical development and socialization.

Being part Poodle, they are typically a very active and inquisitive breed, so regular physical and mental stimulation should be part of their daily routine. An ideal amount and frequency of exercise for your Bernedoodle would depend on age and size, but generally between 40 minutes to an hour daily. This can include a combination of walking, running, playing, swimming, and socializing. Just remember to always tailor the exercise to the age, size, and breed of your Bernedoodle.
