The most interesting thing about Bernedoodles is their unique blend of physical characteristics. Bernedoodles are produced by crossing a Bernese Mountain Dog with a Poodle, creating a unique hybrid with the intelligence of the Poodle, the sweet and gentle nature of the Bernese Mountain Dog, and the long, wavy coat of the Poodle, all in one. This makes Bernedoodles highly trainable, while still being loyal and loving companions.
Bernedoodles are considered a low-shedding breed. While no dog is completely non-shedding, Bernedoodles are hybrids of Poodles and Bernese Mountain Dogs which both have hypoallergenic qualities, resulting in a breed with much less shedding than average. To help minimize shedding even more, Bernedoodles need daily brushing to remove dead hairs, to help keep their coats healthy and beautiful. Regular bathing is also important to keep their coats healthy and free of debris.
Bernedoodles do have slightly special dietary needs. These dietary needs must be tailored to the individual dog, though, as Bernedoodles vary in size, activity level, and any inherited health issues they may have.
