Bernedoodles are a hybrid mix of both a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle, which produces an intelligent, friendly, and loyal companion that is low shedding and hypoallergenic. Many Bernedoodles need heavy grooming and a specialized diet due to the heavy coat, although some are available with a low or minimal-shed coat. Bernedoodles are considered a hybrid "designer dog" and are not recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC), although they are recognized by other organizations such as the American Canine Hybrid Club (ACHC).
