Since they are a crossbreed, the characteristics of a Bernedoodle can vary depending on which parent breed they take after, but generally the breed is considered family-friendly, lowto non-shedding, and often lives for 12-15 years.
Bernedoodles, being a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle, can vary greatly in terms of how they inherit the Bernese and Poodle genes. Generally speaking, Bernedoodles can be either low or non-shedding, making them more hypoallergenic than the average breed. However, since all Bernedoodles have a combination of Bernese and Poodle genetics, it is thought that most, if not all, will have a low-shedding coat.
