Bernedoodles are a designer hybrid dog. They are a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle. Typically, Bernedoodles have a good temperament, are intelligent, and lowto nonshedding. Bernedoodles come in three sizes – Standard, Medium, and Miniature – and a variety of colors (often black, white, and brown). As Bernedoodles are highly trainable, they are increasingly popular as therapy and service dogs due to their combination of intelligence and hypoallergenic coats.
While Bernedoodles have a low to non-shedding coat, meaning they are inherently hypoallergenic, it is not a guarantee that they won't cause allergies. While Bernedoodle owners are typically less likely to suffer from allergies than those who own breeds with heavy shedding coats, it is still possible for someone to be allergic to a Bernedoodle. Being bred from both a Poodle and a Bernese Mountain Dog, they have exercise requirements that can vary depending on the individual. Some Bernedoodles can be quite energetic and may require a little extra exercise during the day, while other Bernedoodles may be more laidback and need a leisurely walk.
