Bernedoodles are an incredibly popular hybrid breed of dog that began to gain momentum in the early 2000's. Not only are they incredibly cute and friendly, they are also highly intelligent and loyal. They usually have short wavy fur that is a combination of their Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle parent breeds. Their diet is very important since they are prone to obesity. Bernedoodles also excel at agility, obedience and other canine sports. They have an excellent temperament and are good with children and other pets.
Bernedoodles can be low to non-shedding depending on their coat type. Bernedoodle coats generally come in two varieties: straight and wavy. Straight-haired Bernedoodles will usually shed minimally if at all, whereas wavy-haired Bernedoodles are typically low-shedding but not completely non-shedding, and will need occasional grooming and brushing to help manage any excess fur. Ultimately, Bernedoodles are considered a low-to-non shedding breed, but some individuals may still shed a bit more than others do.
Bernedoodles typically eat a dog food formulated for large breeds, however, the exact diet plan should be determined by your local veterinarian. The diet should include a high-quality protein source as the main ingredient and comprise of at least 26% protein, at least 18% fat, and no more than 5% fiber. It is also beneficial to consult with a canine nutritionist for feeding tips specific to Bernedoodles. Be sure to use only age-appropriate foods and feed only in the amounts recommended for your Bernedoodle's size and activity level.

Taking 30 minutes to walk your Bernedoodle each day is a great way to ensure that they are both physically and mentally healthy. If you have a fenced in yard, it's also a great place for your Bernedoodle to run around and play with you.
