This breed is truly a one-of-a-kind combination, as Bernedoodles are generally well socialized and have a friendly disposition. Bernedoodles also do not shed, so they are a hypoallergenic option for many potential owners.
Bernedoodles are considered a hypoallergenic breed of dog, meaning they have low to no dander and produce less allergens than other breeds. Additionally, they are considered a low-shedding breed, which further reduces the incidence of anyone experiencing an allergic reaction to them. While no breed of dog is entirely hypoallergenic, Bernedoodles have been reported to cause allergies much less frequently than other breeds. This is great news for those who suffer from pet allergies!

Mini Bernedoodles are those with a Bernese Mountain Dog parent that weighs between 25-49 pounds; Standard Bernedoodles have a Bernese Mountain Dog parent that weighs between 50-74 pounds; and Giant Bernedoodles are those with a Bernese Mountain Dog parent weighing more than 75 pounds.

In fact, their combination of Poodle and Bernese Mountain Dog characteristics mean they are likely to be up for swimming, romping and playing in the water. Some Bernedoodles may need a bit of training to get used to swimming, but with a bit of patience and positive reinforcement, they should take to the water with enthusiasm. That said, it's important to note not all Bernedoodles will love to swim, so it's important to be aware of each pup's individual inclinations.

It is important to provide sufficient exercise and training for Bernedoodles each day. The recommended duration depends on the age, size, and overall health of the Bernedoodle. An adult Bernedoodle should receive up to an hour of exercise per day while puppies may need smaller, more frequent sessions. At a minimum, Bernedoodles should receive at least 30 minutes of daily exercise and training, although 45-50 minutes is considered ideal. Exercise and training can take the form of regular walks, hikes, or playtime with interactive toys.
