Bernedoodles are a hybrid breed of cross between a Bernese Mountain dog and a Poodle. They are a very loving and intelligent breed that is great with children and other pets. Bernedoodles are also hypoallergenic, non-shedding, and can come in a variety of colors such as cream, black, silver, red, gray, sable, and even parti-color. They usually have a wavy to curly coat which makes them quite low maintenance when grooming. They are also fairly active and enjoy participating in dog sports.
Generally, Bernedoodles are considered to be hypoallergenic doodles due to the hybrid mix of poodle and Bernese Mountain Dog. However, all dogs shed on some level, and even with appropriate grooming and maintenance for the Bernedoodle's wirly coat, people with allergies may still be affected by the never-ending cycle of hair and dander. With that being said, if you or a family member have allergies, it may be beneficial to look into a Bernedoodle, but it's important to remember that no two allergies are the same.
