Bernedoodles come in various sizes: standard, mini, and toy. These dogs need a lot of exercise but are usually quite easy going and affectionate. They make great companions for those looking for a loyal and loving pet. Bernedoodles are natural inheritors and don't require too much grooming, which makes them an ideal pet for a busy home.
Bernedoodles have a beautiful, non-shedding coat that comes in various types. The most common is the wavy coat, which is a combination of the Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle coats. This coat is generally low to moderate in shedding, making it an ideal choice for those with allergies. The version of their size depends on the crossing of the Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle so if the Bernese parent is smaller, the offspring will be as well. Some Bernedoodles may stay small enough to be considered "toy" size.
An ideal amount of walking for a Bernedoodle varies depending on their age and exercise needs. Generally, a good amount of exercise for a Bernedoodle is around 20-30 minutes per day. That being said, different dogs have different needs and the amount of walking can be tailored to the dog's activity level. If your Bernedoodle shows signs of needing more activity or is restless, increasing the walking time to 40+ minutes could be beneficial. Of course, it's important to consult with your veterinarian to get their opinion on the optimal amount of exercise for your particular dog.
