Bernedoodles are intelligent, social, and friendly, making them wonderful family pets. They usually have thick, wavy fur that is often curly, making them ideal for families looking for a low-shedding, hypoallergenic breed.
Bernedoodles are typically considered to be non-shedding or low-shedding dogs. While they do shed, it is often much less than other breeds. Bernedoodles are a hybrid mix of a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle, and this combination results in unique coat types and textures that generally produce less shedding than other breeds. Walking is an excellent way to keep a Bernedoodle active and should be done for a minimum of 20 minutes per day but can be increased depending on the breed's energy level. If the day isn't suitable for a walk, a cheerful game of ball or fetch in the garden provides great exercise too.
