They have the intelligence and hypoallergenic benefits of the Poodle, and the size, strength and calm nature of Bernese Mountain Dogs. They often display an endearing balance of both parent breeds’ personalities, meaning they are known to be goofy and gentle, loyal and smart. One of the benefits of this combination is that Bernedoodles need minimal grooming and are very family-friendly.
Bernedoodles are characterized as a hypoallergenic breed due to the hybrid combination of the Bernese mountain dog and the poodle. While no dog breed is100% non-allergenic, Bernedoodles are known for being hypoallergenic because they shed less fur and dander than other breeds. Additionally, because of the Poodle's lineage their coats are less likely to produce common allergens such as saliva and dander.
