Some Cavalier King Charles Spaniel owners even find it necessary to give their pup a haircut every so often to keep the coat in the best condition possible.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels should not be given raisins, chocolate, avocados, onions, garlic, chocolate, grapes, alcohol, raw meat, sweets, peanuts, macadamia nuts, sugar, junk food, or products with xylitol. These items can all be toxic to them. In addition, it is not recommended to give the Cavalier King Charles any snacks at all unless your veterinarian has given you the go ahead. The Toy size is the smallest measuring less than 10 inches in height, while the King Charles is the largest size and will grow up to 13 inches in height. There is a great variety in the breed's weight as well, with Toy Cavaliers weighing 4-8 pounds whereas the King Charles size will weigh between 13-18 pounds.
Generally speaking, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel owners should aim for at least 30 minutes of daily exercise. This is best split into two 15 minute sessions, as this gives your pup time to rest and explore on their walks. We recommend 30 minutes as the minimum, but additional exercise will only benefit you and your pup, so feel free to make it longer. Longer and more frequent walks also benefit their digestive system, providing necessary exercise to keep your pup healthy and skinny.
