They are suitable for people of all ages and make wonderful family pets. Their low-shedding coats require weekly brushing and regular trips to the groomers to keep them looking their best. CKCS love to go for walks and play but should not over exert themselves due to their size.
The Cavalier King Charles Coat is a short, straight-haired double coat that is moderately long to the ground. It is often described as having a silky texture. The coat can be wavy or have no curl at all, and usually comes in solid colors of white, black and tan, or a combination of these. The coat can have some tan points, but they should not be visible in the adult dog. The coat requires moderate maintenance and brushing to keep healthy and perfect looking, as it is prone to matting.
