Cavalier King Charles Spaniels have quite a few fun facts to know about them! They are a toy breed, making them great companions and lap dogs. Cavaliers are highly trainable, but they require a good amount of exercise and mental stimulation to stay healthy. One interesting fact about them is that they were bred to be companion and lap dogs for the aristocracy in the 1600s. Cavaliers also have an extremely long lifespan, with many living up to 15 years. They also come in four different colors, including Blenheim, Tri-color, Ruby, and Black and Tan.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are not completely hypoallergenic, as all dogs can cause some level of allergy. They have a single coat which is long and silky, but not as dense as the coat of some other dogs, which may make them marginally less prone to triggering allergies. Additionally, as a toy breed, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels typically shed less than larger-breed dogs.
Cavalier King Charles should not be fed chocolate, as it can be toxic to them.
