They are believed to have been favored by King Charles II of England, who was a fan of toy spaniels, and were bred with other types of spaniels to create what we know as the Cavalier King Charles today. They are a friendly and loving breed, famous for being a lap-dog. They love pleasing their owners, and can be trained to do various tricks. Some fun facts about Cavaliers include that they love water, and can make excellent swimmers.
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has a luxurious coat that is soft and silky to the touch. This breed of dog has long, straight fur with wavy fringes that extend up from the shoulders and down from the hind legs. The hair is cut evenly, avoiding a scruffy look, or it can be kept longer for a shaggier look. The coat may be solid with a single color of fur, or with patches of white, tan, black, and red blended together.

However, compared to the majority of larger breeds, a full-grown Cav is most likely considered small.
The amount of exercise your Cavalier King Charles should get per day will vary based on its age, activity level, and overall health. Generally speaking, your dog should get a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise each day, broken down into multiple walks or play sessions.
