The breed originated as a companion to the nobility in Europe during the 17th century, and its small size and friendly nature won the hearts of royal families in many court circles. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are also among the oldest documented breeds, having their own standard since the 1800s. The breed is celebrated for its intelligence and loyalty, with a great sense of humor that endears them to their owners.
The Cavalier King Charles is a small lap dog that has an incredibly adorable and gentle expression. Its coat stands out for its lush, silky texture and luxurious hair that comes in four distinctive colors: Blenheim, Black and Tan, Ruby, and Tri-Color. They usually have a luxurious, flowing mane and feathering.
