Cavaliers King Charles are a small breed of spaniel most beloved for being friendly and devoted companions. This breed is easy to recognize by their round-shaped faces and long features, with an always merry, gentle expression. Originally bred to be companion dogs for royalty in the Middle Ages, these little dogs are now favorites of a wide range of people. They are a toy breed, typically weighing between 8 and 18 pounds, and they come in four colors: black & tan, ruby, tricolor (black & white & tan) and Blenheim (red & white).
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel's have a moderate amount of shedding. They have long, silky coats that require regular grooming and brushing, and are not hypoallergenic.
