They have silky coats that come in four color variations, and can weigh anywhere between 10-18 lbs. Depending on the lineage, their heart-shaped faces can be smooth or slightly wrinkled.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels generally do not shed much fur, making them an excellent choice for families with allergies. The breed is also typically described as low-shedding due to the dense and wavy fur, which helps trap the dead hair and prevents it from getting airborne. The fur requires regular brushing and trimming to avoid mats and tangles, which can irritate the skin and enhance the amount of shedding.
