On average, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels can live between 9 and 14 years, but some dogs of this breed have lived to be almost 19 years old. This is considerably longer than most other popular breeds. Moreover, this breed has a great personality: they are known to be friendly, affectionate, and loyal companions.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels have been bred to be as low-shedding and hypoallergenic as possible. Although no dog can be completely hypoallergenic, it is true that these little dogs are on the list of breeds known for being less likely to cause allergic reactions in those who are sensitive to pet dander. In addition to having low levels of dander, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel does not have an undercoat that would cause heavy shedding.
