They are happy to go on long walks and play games with their owners, and also love to cuddle up with anyone they get to know. Their playful spirit and friendly demeanor make them the perfect family pet. Due to their gentle nature, they can also make excellent therapy dogs. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel coat is soft and silky with a slight wave, and is longer than the smooth Coats of other breeds. The face, chest, belly, and legs are covered in feathering, or longer and more wavy fur. They come in a wide variety of colors including Blenheim (red and white markings), ruby (red), tricolor (black/tan/white), black and tan, and sometimes a combination of two of these colors. Furthermore, the coat does need to be regularly maintained with brushing, to avoid knots and tangles.
