These sweet-tempered, companionable dogs have long silky coats featuring a variety of colors. They are classified as toy dogs, with their height, when fully grown, typically ranging from 12 to 13 inches, and their weight usually ranging from 10-18 pounds. Cavaliers need moderate exercise – daily walks are important to keep them healthy.
Allergies are a potential problem for people living with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. While the breed itself is not known to cause allergic reactions, its long coat can collect dust, mold, and dander, all of which are potential triggers for those suffering from allergies. Additionally, the breed does have a fairly high shedding rate, so people with allergies should take this into consideration before owning one of these beautiful dogs.
