They are small spaniels with a muzzle of medium length and a silky coat that comes in four colors (blenheim, ruby, black and tan, and tri-color). This breed loves to be around people and is gentle and loving. Cavalier King Charles have a very eager to please attitude and are easy to train.
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has a long, silky, and straight coat. Its fur can range from a deep mahogany red to a light chestnut brown and the coat can be either smooth or feathered, with dropped ears and large feathery eyebrows lending the breed a look of regal distinction. Additionally, its coat is made up of two layers, an undercoat of fine fur that keeps it warm in colder climates and a longer outer coat that can be wavy or even partially curled.
