Cavaliers King Charles dogs are often thought of as a beloved companion dog. They are a class of small spaniels from the toy group and have a kind, gentle nature. With their silky coats they look similar to the larger King Charles Spaniel but have a very distinct personality. Cavaliers are friendly and outgoing, making them wonderful dogs for families with kids, retirees or singles alike. They are also highly intelligent, coming in four distinct colors, and have been bred for centuries as a lap dog for royalty.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are considered hypoallergenic, meaning they don't typically shed much fur or dander. They do still shed a small amount of hair, but it usually is so minimal that it isn't even noticed. If shedding is a concern, there are other breeds of dogs that may be better suited, however, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are definitely a breed that may be suitable if you want a non-shedding pet.
